Ritz Carlton Clayton: Casa Don Alfonso & The Cigar Club

Overview
When celebrated restaurateur Mario Iaccarino opened Casa Don Alfonso, the St. Louis outpost of Michelin-starred Don Alfonso, it was critical to create an interior that channeled a slice of Sant'Agata, Italy inside the Ritz Carlton St. Louis. For the award-winning design, BSI Constructors tapped Gravois Planing Mill to provide key specialty details.
Description
Working closely with BSI and design firm The Johnson Studio, Gravois Planing Mill was able to furnish some of the exquisite details that make an evening at Casa Don Alfonso so memorable and transportive—in particular, the unique metalwork that catches the light on the marble bar front as the dining area transitions into the open kitchen. The resulting space has been recognized with two awards: the 2022 ASID Design Excellence Awards, Hospitality Restaurants, Silver and the 2022 Illumination Awards, Merit. In addition, Gravois Planing Mill partnered with BSI on the renovation of The Cigar Club at the Ritz, furnishing the bar, trim, and paneling that give the space its rich and inviting atmosphere.
