FAQs

Are you open to the public?

Yes! While we are best known as a leading architectural woodworking company for custom commercial projects, we serve residential customers as well and we warmly welcome the public. We offer over a hundred in-stock moldings that complement many historic and contemporary home styles in the Saint Louis area, and we can match virtually any molding style you have in your space.

Our historic facility at 3026 Juniata Street is open weekdays from 7 AM - 4:30 PM daily—however, we always recommend giving us a quick call beforehand so we can be sure the right staff member will be there to assist you with your project.

Do you build custom bars?

Yes. We have crafted custom builds for some of the most well-known bars and restaurants in the Saint Louis area, and we can do the same for your project—whether it’s commercial or residential.

Do you make custom windows or doors?

Yes. Our recent custom work includes exterior doors for the Missouri Botanical Garden and challenging curved interior doors for Powell Symphony Hall. In addition to our Commercial work, we do take on custom residential windows and doors on a case-by-case basis—but typically, we only bid on residential doors and windows that are architecturally drawn.

Do you make custom cabinets?

Yes. We have been making custom cabinets for over 100 years, both for residential and commercial applications.

Do you make custom interior or exterior signs?

Yes! We’d be happy to work with you to create a custom wooden sign.

Do you mill downed trees or cut outside wood?

Unfortunately, we are unable to cut outside wood or mill downed trees for customers. We recommend consulting The Missouri Department of Conservation’s Missouri Mill Search to locate sawmills that can assist with projects of this nature.

I'm remodeling and don't have architectural plans. Can you still help me?

Yes. We’re happy to assist homeowners with projects of any size—some customers purchase just a few feet of stock millwork for a small repair, and others partner with us for larger-scale home projects. Just drop us a line and let us know how we can help.

I'm acting as my own General Contractor (GC). Can I work with you to select the right molding?

Yes. We enjoy working with homeowners to select woodworking that will last a lifetime. We can help you navigate the many wood species and molding functions we offer to determine exactly what your home needs.

Do you deliver?

Yes. We have a small fleet for making deliveries in the Greater Saint Louis area. As one of a few remaining fully custom shops in the Midwest, we are also occasionally called upon to deliver our sought-after work across a larger area. If you’re located outside our regular service area and would like to discuss delivery, get in touch.

Do you ship?

Yes. If we need to ship an item outside of our regular service area, we can arrange for a freight carrier to ship it to you. Reach out for an estimate.

Do you install your work?

No. We focus exclusively on in-house custom work and leave the installation to your general contractor (GC). That said, if you encounter any issues during install with something we have crafted, we will certainly send one of our craftsmen to the site to correct it.
