Overview

After a successful collaboration with Waterhout Construction in 2017 for Missouri Botanical Garden’s museum restoration and addition, Gravois Planing Mill was tapped again in 2020 to support MOBOT’s latest project: a reimagined dining room and ticket counter, with a warm and welcoming wood-wrapped scheme.

The latest renovation of Missouri Botanical Garden called for a warm yet modern rework of the Member and Visitor Services area: a multi-kiosk desk spanning a large portion of the main entry space. Working with frequent collaborator Waterhout Construction, Gravois Planing Mill was able to craft this expansive counter and fit modern wood paneling throughout the space, including as a “wrap” on oversized structural columns that define the area. The wood paneling continues throughout adjoining corridors, lending a cohesive and streamlined feel to the visitor’s center.
