Donald Danforth Plant Science Center Expansion

Overview
The Donald Danforth Plant Science Center’s original laboratory has an instantly recognizable look, and when it was time to expand the center to accommodate 100 additional researchers and staff, it was important to the team that the expansion remained true to the original design.
Description
To complete the four-story addition on the west side of the Danforth Center’s laboratory, Gravois Planing Mill worked closely with McCarthy to furnish modern bamboo wall slats and louvers, as well as casework and top surfaces for the common areas. Wood trim work and shop finishing was done to provide a seamless and cohesive look with the style established by the original structure.
